Reset K9 Training is owned and run by me, Sandra, a certified dog trainer based in north west London. Much of my professional development to date has been undertaken with the Dog Training College and other modern training organisations.

My areas of expertise and interest include puppy and owner coaching as well as helping families of all ages, shapes and sizes to truly enjoy their new family member. I have a particular interest in helping children bond with their dog(s) putting a strong emphasis on dog safety and learning to ready dog body language. I operate one-to-one coaching in clients’ homes mainly in and around north west London – and I LOVE what I do.

My Professional Development to date >

My understanding of canine behaviour and training techniques is based on the most recent research and I always put the needs of the dog at the heart of my training. My approach is positive, force-free, playful and engaging – my aim is to empower dogs and their owners with life skills though play-based engagement and positive reinforcement. I believe that dogs should opt-in to training and to do this we need to help owners understand how to communicate effectively with their canine family members. Much of this is done through recognising and responding to our dog’s body language and managing our dog’s environment, so that we do our very best to set them up for success at every step.

I work with all ages, breeds and temperaments but I particularly love coaching owners through puppyhood and I have a particular soft spot for supporting families with young children develop a bond with their puppy – this often includes teaching children how to interact safely around their new canine brother or sister but also includes showing the adults of the family how to manage the different environments so that a new puppy can settle in, use choice in every day situations and build the confidence they need to be balanced, happy adult dogs.

Aside from working with dog caregivers, I also spend my time running workshops for children in local nurseries and schools, teaching them to interpret dog body language and stay safe during dog interactions.

We love the north west London dog-loving community and look for opportunities to get in touch with local initiatives whenever and however we can. Keep an our eye on our blog to find out what we get up to.

My personal background has always involved animals – growing up in urban 80s London, we were always surrounded by small furry friends at home… rabbits, fish, guinea pigs, cats and dogs, not to mention the class hamsters which found their way into our home regularly on weekends. During my adult life I have been blessed to co-parent Ruby, a sprightly 16 year old Maltese/Jack Russell (who came to us for re-homing after relatives passed away) and most recently her very young sidekick Stella, a playful, loving, happy-go-lucky Cockapoo (aka WiggleBum). I also share my house with four guinea pigs and three (human) daughters – I can’t say we all get along like a house on fire, but it is certainly a house full of barks, whines, squeals, tantrums and the oddly affectionate guinea pig beep beep. My immediate family also own dogs (Staffies and Viszlas seem to be particularly popular!) and my non-working time is often spent getting all the canine and human relatives together for a little controlled chaos.

My interest in training was re-ignited with Stella. She is my muse. She allows me to test out my training theories and forgives the repetitive sessions I have asked her to endure during my professional training. I feel incredibly proud to be a certified dog trainer with Dog Training College; the eye-opening process has allowed me to understand and utilise the very latest in modern dog training research to become the confident, knowledgeable and capable dog trainer that I am today.
